The most recent National Science Foundation data show that UNH ranks 38th in research expenditures among all universities and colleges without a medical school. Durham, home od the University of New Hampshire is located in New Hampshire's seacoast area. Nicely situated an hour from Boston, MA and Portland, ME. If skiing, hiking, kayaking, swimming or skating are on your must do list, Durham is also an hour away from the White Mountains, one of the most beautiful regions in the country. The town of Durham has a variety of stores to meet most student needs. If you don't find it there, you can take Wildcat Transit to other shopping centers in Newington, Portsmouth or Dover.
